Sino Group: A Legacy of Excellence in the UAE Since 1982
Active since 1982, Sino Group has been a pioneering business force in the UAE for over four decades. As a privately owned enterprise, it has achieved significant milestones across diverse industries, reflecting its commitment to innovation and service excellence.
Sino & Gulf General Trading has maintained an active license for over 40 years, marking a remarkable journey of sustained success. Over a thousand Geely cars were exported to Libya by the group. Notably, the company played a key role in securing approvals and ensuring regulatory compliance for the establishment of One Road Taxi in Dubai. It facilitated the introduction of Hongqi cars from China under the leadership of the group chairperson, Sheng Dongmei.
Expanding its reach, Sino World General Trading entered the electronic equipment trade in 2002, further solidifying the group’s presence in the region. In 2019, Sino F M FZE was launched to provide essential services to individuals unable to visit governmental offices, including a payment facilitation system to manage customers’ financial obligations.
In 2020, the group ventured into the electric vehicle sector with the formation of Sino Sheng Motor Vehicle Assembly. With a vision to assemble electric vehicles locally in the UAE, the company is dedicated to fostering technical expertise by training students in practical vehicle assembly processes.
That same year, all Sino Group companies received TDRA approval to retail SIM cards for leading telecom providers such as Etisalat and du, positioning themselves as registered vendors in the UAE’s telecom sector.
From pioneering cultural events like the Lantern Festival at the famous Safa Park in Dubai, to spearheading innovative business ventures, Sino Group remains committed to shaping the future of Sino-UAE trade, technology, and transportation in the UAE market.
Chairperson's Message
I arrived in the UAE in the early 1980s with the simple goal of promoting my fabric business. What began as a business endeavor soon turned into a lifelong journey—one filled with challenges, opportunities, and the privilege of being part of the UAE’s remarkable growth story.
The path was not always easy. Navigating new languages, understanding a different business landscape, and establishing a foothold as a Chinese entrepreneur in the UAE required resilience, adaptability, and an unwavering belief in the potential of cross-border collaboration. Today, I take immense pride in having played a role in strengthening UAE-China trade relations, which recently marked 40 years of prosperous partnership.
Over the decades, I have had the honour of contributing to various industries, from trade and investments to mobility solutions and services. My invitation to the China (Shenzhen) – UAE (Dubai) Economy, Trade, and Investment Cooperation Conference in 2019 was a testament to the deep ties I have built in both nations. Even during challenging times, such as the global pandemic, my businesses thrived, allowing me to expand into real estate investments in one of Dubai’s prime locations, EMAAR South.
I firmly believe that success in any venture comes from having a sharp eye, an intuitive understanding of markets, and the courage to seize opportunities when they arise. As a longstanding member of the Chinese community in the UAE, I remain committed to facilitating foreign trade and fostering stronger business ties between our two great nations.
The UAE has been a land of opportunity, and I am grateful for the support, trust, and friendships I have built here. As Sino Group continues to grow and evolve, my vision remains steadfast—to create new avenues for business, innovation, and collaboration that will benefit future generations.
